For best results, use the oil 1–2 times a week, a few days apart.

1. Prepare. Start with dry, well-combed hair.
2. Apply to the scalp. Using the dropper, apply a measured amount along your partings, directly onto the scalp. Spread it evenly, no need to flood it.
3. Nourish the lengths. Smooth a little oil through the lengths and ends for softness and natural shine.
4. Massage. Gently massage the scalp for a few minutes with your fingertips or a scalp massager. Skip this step if your scalp is sensitive.
5. Leave it on. Leave the oil on for 2–3 hours. Even an hour helps, consistency matters more than time.
6. Wash out. Shampoo 2–3 times as needed with the Caroline K Repair Shampoo to remove the oil and complete the routine.

Rosemary oil supports micro-circulation in the scalp and contains compounds studied for their anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal activity. Rosemary has also been linked to DHT-related pathways, although the evidence in humans is still limited. In a small clinical study, six months of using a rosemary preparation improved hair-growth measures, with no significant difference compared with 2% minoxidil. These results do not guarantee the same effect for every oil product.

Castor oil nourishes and softens the hair fibre for healthy-looking, strong, shiny hair. It contains ricinoleic acid, which has been studied for anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial activity. Applying it may help soften the scalp and ease dryness; there is currently no solid clinical proof that castor oil alone stimulates hair growth or treats fungal dandruff.

Pumpkin seed oil is rich in fatty acids and plant compounds that nourish the scalp and soften the hair. It has been studied in relation to DHT-related hormonal pathways and hair density: in a study using an oral pumpkin seed oil supplement, hair count improved by about 40% on average after 24 weeks. Results from taking it by mouth should not be assumed for topical use on the scalp.

Black seed oil contains thymoquinone, a plant compound studied for its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It is used to care for the scalp and can help with softness and dryness. Early studies have looked at black-seed preparations and hair shedding, but there is not enough evidence that it reawakens dormant follicles or treats seborrhoea, fungal infections or nutrition-related hair loss on its own.

Tulsi seed extract comes from traditional Ayurvedic practice, where it is known for helping to reduce excessive shedding and support hair growth. It is used to improve scalp circulation, strengthen the hair fibre, reduce breakage, purify the scalp, calm itching and balance sebum.

Brahmi leaf extract is a well-known Ayurvedic ingredient for scalp and hair care. Its saponins and alkaloids help nourish the follicles; massaging the scalp with a Brahmi-based product boosts local micro-circulation, and its cooling, soothing properties help calm an irritated scalp and ease dryness and dryness-related flaking.
